iTunes sees the iPod touch that is plugged into my Macbook Air

I have Smart Playlists in my iTunes Library. There are songs in those playlists that should show up on the iPod, but the songs are not showing up.

Does the iPod ever show the playlists that are on it, when plugged into the computer? I can't see any playlists on the iPod.

iTunes has a new window, did you try scroll down to manually added songs?

Tried scrolling down to choose Manually choose songs. Now iTunes is stuck in Step 4 Syncing iPod and won't finish syncing. I have turned off iTunes Match, but the Manually Choose Songs keeps getting unchecked. GRRRRR
