Word 2008 for mac

Can you tell us what you've tried? We don't have much to go on here. Without any details, I'd suggest making sure the toolbars are visible (View > Toolbars).
Accessing toolbars
The toolbars seem to have become inaccessible. I have tried to bring up the "review" toolbar so I can enable and disable "track changes". But when I select review toolbar, nothing happens. How can I recover thee toolbars?

Toolbar (red) or ribbon (blue)?
If it's the ribbon, Word (at least 2011, not sure about 2008) has this weird bug that prevents about 95% of clicks on a ribbon tab from registering...randomly. If this is the case, click the top part of the ribbon tab (which always seems to work).
