hi,
I try to get Imac G4 to life again, I upgraded it to 1Ghz Ram, Hdd 500GB, Airport for Wireless. But I face some problems:
1- I have 2 Original DVDs 10.4 which comes with the MAC but when I try to use it to boot and install the OSX I always get this message which end by (panic we are hanging here)
2- when I try to connect by a wire to the internet, it not working and even no blinking at all from the Mac port or even the router, but it working well with the airport (Wireless).
3- I try to make a recover partition for the OSX but can't find out how to do it, as in the pc I use True image and to recover just press F11.

Any help for this old mac ;)

Those symptoms make me think the original DVDs aren't for that specific model iMac. Maybe you'll need to get the correct version. Read the stickie info above about DVD OS X versions (Which OS Disk).

Don't forget to tell us which exact Model Mac you have.

Re: #3 . . . To create a recovery partition, you need an Apple computer with OS X 10.7 (minimum).

Sorry you have spent far to much on a lampshade!

A G4 is simply too old and do not go on the 'net using Tiger OS X.4. Unsecure.

you mean 10.4.11 is insecure to be connected to the internet ?

Exactly (at least to a degree). At the moment…only OS 10.7 and above still receive security updates from Apple.
