I'm trying to move a LaCie drive from one (older) Mac to another, newer iMac, but it doesn't appear on the desktop of the iMac - or in Disk Utility. The LaCie drive is formatted as 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)'. The iMac's hard drive shows up as 'Journaled HFS+'. The LaCIe works fine on the older Mac. Any idea what the issue is?

Thanks!

Making a few assumptions here for information that you didn't give:

Don't use a keyboard USB port. Try using a different USB port. Restart the iMac doing a PRAM reset ( hold command-option-P-R ).

The keyboard is connected to a port on the back of the iMac. Is that ok for the PRAM restart? :)

Yes. The reason not to attach the LaCie external drive to a keyboard USB port is that not enough power is provided by those ports to run the drive.
