Hi,

I have a white late 2009 macbook right now and I've upgraded its memory and I got a SSD hard drive. I am starting my career as a graphic designer and lately I am always using my macbook. I've no problem with it right now after the upgrades.

I live outside the US and the prices of the MacBooks are very expensive compared to the US, and if I will need to upgrade and get a new macbook at any point of time, it would be difficult. I am going to the US in a week, and was thinking that this was an opportunity to get a new Macbook Pro, cause I am worried that my white Macbook would become obsolete in no time especially after the launch of Yosemite OS. What do you think? should I stay with white macbook or get a new Macbook Pro now? if yes, which model would you recommend and why?

Many Thanks.

I am from the school of don't upgrade if the current model meets my demands within reason.
I am still getting great service out of my 09 MBP and have not heard beta testers state Yosemite will not run on one.

You didn't mention your country of origin. However, if you're coming to the US and can purchase a new Mac to carry back home and have considered import duty, VAT, and whatever taxes your home country levies, here are some suggestions:

The 13" Standard MacBook Pro (non retina) is a very good buy and is user upgradeable.

The remainder of 13" and 15" MacBook Pro machines are retina which cost more and are not upgradeable by the user.

You can access the Apple on line store and get an idea of what they look like and their specs.
