Good Spec MacbookPro running really slow!!

My macbook pro is running really slow. its fully updated to mavericks and the spec is;
2.53 GHZ Core 2 duo
8gb Ram
250gb SSD
750GB HD

Freezing doing basic tasks.. I'm away djing in corfu so can't get to an apple store. any help would be amazing.

Running slow and freezing when doing basic tasks could possibly be a sign that your hard drive is about to die. Make a backup of all your data as soon as possible. After you've done that, boot your MBP to recovery (command + R during restart). Once in recovery, select Utilities, Disk Utility. Verify your hard drive and allow any errors that it finds to be repaired.
