I'm selling one of my IMacs, OS 10.6.8, had very little info on it, so decided to do a manual change (deletion) instead of restoring OS. But I can't change the name of the Home folder... back to home. Can this be done?

You will have to rename the User as home in the Accounts preferences to cause the folder to change name (the folder gets its name from the User account

I was able to change the name of the computer.... but not the home computer. When you look at the users file on the HD, it still has a name and I can't change it or delete it. That's the change I was looking for. Maybe I'm missing something?

Best option is to pop in the Snow Leopard DVD, format and do a clean install leaving user name, passwords etc blank. Suggest to the buyer they spend $20 and purchase the Snow Leopard DVD from Apple Online.
