Hey All,
I have a MBP:
MacBook Pro 15-inch, Late 2011
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 10 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
Software OS X 10.9.4
I can xfr files between my MBP and iMac desktop with no probs. I have my folders shared with "read/write" on my iMac and have xfr'd files earlier. I have another iMac, same year and make but a 21" version. I have created a folder and added same permissions (shared, read/write) but not able to xfr files to it. Every time I try I get this msg:
"The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code-8058)."
Please ask any questions or offer any suggestions that I might try.
Thanks everyone!

Try some routine maintenance:
Restart in Recovery mode and use Disk Utility to repair the hard drive (you can repair permissions, too).
Read just the first paragraph about how to get to recovery:
OS X: About OS X Recovery
