Macbook air purchase questions

I just recently purchased my two boys brand new 13" Macbook airs. The latest model. So my question is, I just ordered them speck cases from Amazon and it reads "Yep it fits, Includes openings for dual mic-holes on new June 2013 MacBook Air models (plus late 2010-2012)" Will these cases work?

And more question, being that they have SSD'S is it necessary for them to shut down their laptops while in their backpack? Thanks for your input.

I am also open to any suggestions that I may be able to offer them. Im still on my '09 MBP, so I'm somewhat behind the times.

The cases should fit as there really hasn't been any changes that would preclude any openings or ports to be covered. As far shutting the machine down while carrying it in their backpacks, I personally recommend doing so. The fact that the internal drive is an SSD would make no difference if the machine woke up while in the backpack. It would still heat up fast.
