Good day to all
I am new at this. I have a mackbook pro and am having some issues. I've been using my mac for 2 years now. Starting up and shutting down have considerably slowed down. At startup, the screen becomes white with mouse pointer working and takes about 2 minutes to fully starts. Shutting down does the same. Once started, everything works well. I wanted to reformat my mac. Can you please help. I would appreciate any advice

Reformatting is rarely necessary…so let's explore other options first.:)

How full is your hard drive (gigs used & gigs free)?

Ok…thanks for the info. Everything looks fine as far as free space.

One thing to try before doing a reformat…is to download the free maintenance app Onyx….and run it:

Titanium's Software • Index page

Just download, install it, and hit the auto button.
