Hi boys

Any idea why my iMac periodic sudden restart?
I have installed: Mac Fan Control 1.1.12.1
SSD: Intel SSDSC2CW180A3
Temp: CPU 39, LCD 35, GPU Heatsink 51
NB: New installation of Maverick, and almost nothing else.
Is it perhaps SSD drive is the problem?
I do not have the original HD. I purchased the iMac as described.

My iMac:
iMac 27 "End-2009
2.8 HHz Intel Core i7
12 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
SSD: Intel SSDSC2CW180A3

Say if more information is desired,

Regards Ivan

Sudden restarts are almost always caused by a hardware problem. Yes, it could be the SSD, and it could also be the power supply, and maybe the memory modules. Anyway, that should give you some idea on what to look for. You might want to run diagnostics using the Apple Hardware Test.

Harry: I don't think that applies to an SSD. He has an SSD in that machine not a spinning hard drive. However, the use of iMac Fan Control is troubling and may not in fact be needed.

Not sure Charlie. This item would indicate SSD's have the same problem? The next model, 2010, did have a built in mounting and slot for the SSD, not the 2009. 4Mac's temperatures are spot on normal for summer so why use Fan Control if not for the jumbpo roaring?
