Using 10.9.4.
I prefer to use VLC as my default player for MP4 AVI WMV MPG FLV etc.
I have gone into Get Info on each format and did a "Change All" yet it seems that it is not always remembered and still when I click an MP4 or another format, VLC is not opened, but rather QT. It seems that the changed default app is '"remembered" for a while then later the original default is again used until I "Change all" again.
Is there a plist for preferred apps? Some central location where file extensions and their default apps are listed?
