So my case (plastic), cracked in the corners due to a few impacts, and now it sometimes doesn't have the staying power to hang onto my Macbook Air.

I'm thinking of a little double-sided adhesive to hold the case to the MBA. Thoughts on that? Will the adhesive melt from the heat? Any other solutions?

The solution is to buy a new protective case for your MBA. Any kind of patching up of the old case is not going to help it protect the computer. Also, tape gets sticky with heat and may cause damage.

I second chscag's recommendation. Ditch the old case...and get a new one.:)
