I bought a used computer, and I notice that when I boot up the remote management in the sharing preference always engages even if I turn it off. I am afraid this is some kind of security hole. 10.9.4 266 GHz i7 4 GB 1067 DDR3 Macbook Pro. Any help fixing this would be appreciated.

When ever you purchase a computer that has been used, it's good practice to erase it and install the operating system under your own Apple ID. Any licensed software that came with the used computer is not legally yours anyway unless the seller gave you the original disks and registration serial numbers.
