After using Yosemite Beta successfully for a couple of weeks, Safari seems to have developed a very annoying problem. If I wish to do a search by deleting what appears in the browser URL, all too often the dreaded beach ball appears and Safari is locked up.

Force Quit brings the Report box which wings it was to Apple. Anyone else having this trouble? Maybe I should put a Google Search in Favourites Menu and use that and not the browser URL space?

Harry, isn't that why we have a Report Box. This is a Beta after all and as I understand it the whole idea is to find bugs, (as you obviously have) report them to Apple and await an update with a fix.:Mischievous:

Well there you go. I found a fault in Mail where the year is not completely displayed in the preview column. Only the first two digits no matter if you resize. Must check to see if that has been corrected. :\

No Safari updates Down Under Charlie, Only Yosemite updates have been to iTunes, Digital Raw for cameras and Epson Printer Software. Still reads Safari 8.0(105388.46). To date no less than twenty three bug reports to Apple on Safari Not Responding.

Have not seen your problem Rod.

Yeah, disregard Harry. The update was for Mavericks only - security update.

Oh, that's interesting, I suppose I just assumed it was a universal problem. If no one else is experiencing this issue then it must be just my edition.

I am not seeing this issue on my 2009 machine using Yosemite. Just tried it just now with no issues. I am, however, using DuckDuckGo as my search engine, not Google.

Same here. Right down to the use of DuckDuckGo.

@Harry are you using any extensions?

Only Ghostery Sly. I have got around this problem by popping Google in the Favourites Bookmark.

Issue fixed in Beta 2 even if it was just me. Downloading Beta 3 as i write this. I must have missed the Spotlight Window, not needing to search for much I only used it yesterday for the first time, it's HUGE. Not complaining at all, anything including the dark mode and new system font that makes viewing easier for us "older" users is alright by me.

Strange, Mail seems to have developed a degree of transparency in the side menu bar after installing Beta 3 update. At first I thought they had decided to receive the rather boring grey appearance with a little colour until I realised it was my desktop underneath. Anyone else noticed this? Can't find any transparency controls in prefs are they hidden somewhere?
