Hey guys!

I woke up this morning to getting no response from my 2010 MacBook Pro. The screen is black, I am not entirely sure if it is running or not. But the battery sensor on the sign does show that it has 4 of the 6 dots. I have tried holding down the power button for long periods of time and nothing has happened.

Another weird thing is that when I plug-in the charger, the light on the charger appears green instead of orange, even though the side sensor says that it is not fully charged.

Would really appreciate some help, thanks in advance!

I match all of those symptoms but it does not seem to be working. I would attach an external monitor but I am currently traveling in Central America and don't have access to one and won't for 4 months. I don't believe that is it though because it appears to be totally turned off.

Can you hear the fan running? Open the cover and put your ear close to the side of the keyboard. The fan is normally very quiet when running at low RPMs but you should still be able to hear it. If it's not powering up at all the battery indicator would still show and the MagSafe Adapter Charger would have no effect.

I opened the bottom up yesterday and the fans weren't running at all, I believe the system is completely turned off and won't power up again.

That's usually an indication of a power supply failure. It's possible the DC input board which acts as an interface between the MagSafe Adapter and power to the logic board has failed. It could also mean logic board failure. It could even be something more simple like the power on - off switch failure. But instead of a lot of conjecture, it's best to take it on in to an Apple store and let a genius look at it. There is usually no fee for diagnostics provided you use an Apple store. Authorized Apple repair centers will charge for diagnostics. Let us know how it all turns out.

Okay, really thanks for the help! Probably won't be able to visit one for at least three weeks but I will be sure to report back.
