I use 1 Password to store my passwords. For the last month or so, some passwords have been changed. Some of the time a space will be added other times the password is completely changed. I do not understand how this can happen. The computer should ask for approval to change an item. None of this happened until I upgraded to Mavrick.
Thanks
Floyd

1Password does not change or alter passwords unless you first enter your master password and make the changes. You didn't provide us with any info regarding your Mac but you could very well have corruption occurring with your hard drive or something else is causing it. Perhaps when you installed Mavericks, it stressed your hard drive. Use Disk Utility from the recovery partition to verify your hard drive and let us know the results.

I have used Disk utility, Drive Genius, MacKeeper and I have used SuperDuper to make an external derive and booted from it. I have a MacBook Pro running 10.9.4. It is a 2 Ghz intel Core i7 with 16GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 memory and a 1.5 GB Toshiba hard drive. I had a Root Kit once before, but none show up now. The passwords are random some long some only 4 numerical. I have reinstalled OS X and 1 Password and waiting to see what happens.

I'm with Craig in thinking that MacKeeper may be the root problem here. There has possibly been more written about MacKeeper than almost any other app. Many regard it as pernicious, malware and worse and removing it from your Mac is not as straightforward as with other apps.

I suggest you remove it now — there are numerous YouTube tutorials on how to achieve this and a Google search will also provide an abundance of suggestions and reviews.

After removal and rebooting, see if your problem resolves and please feed back to us.
