Hey Y'all,

I have a 2007 Macbook Pro. Just recently it has been giving me a problem. I can connect to the internet via wifi no problem. If I try to connect with my ethernet cable, I am unable to connect to the internet.

Why am I having this problem!

Check the simple things first: Swap out the ethernet cable, reset your router, check your setings in System Preferences, Networking. I have had ethernet cables go bad for no apparent reason. (It's usually the fine wires in the connector that break.)

Since the things already suggested haven't corrected the situation. You could try:

- an NVRAM/PRAM Reset
- try repairing permissions
- try running Onyx

Like I said above - the simple things first. ;) Try doing a SMC reset to see if you can wake up the ethernet port. Other than that and without digging into the logic board, there's not much else that can be done. SMC reset.
