Hello,
I recently purchased a Mac Mini in excellent condition and I realized that it didn't have a HDD. So I went and installed a new 1TB HDD and tried to install Mac OS X (Retail copy of Snow Leopard) and it doesn't seem to work. Is there something I am doing wrong? I also don't have the Original discs that come with the Mac Mini.

Mid 2010 Mac Mini, No HDD (Installed new 1TB), 2G Ram and a copy of Snow Leopard.

Did you format the new HD before trying to install the OS?

Are you sure you used a retail version of Snow Leopard of at least 10.6.3? The reason I ask is that your Mid 2010 Mac Mini came pre-installed with Snow Leopard 10.6.3 from the factory. If you try to install an earlier copy of Snow Leopard or a non retail version, it will not work.

You can actually install Mavericks on that machine, however, you will first need to get Snow Leopard working and add at least another 2 GB of memory.

Be warned about buying computers with no hard drive and operating system. Especially on eBay and such.
