Question about Saving Documents in OS X

In the "other" world I got used to being able to create new folders and add sub-folder levels during the "File-Save" process by right-clicking.

I am not able to figure out how to save a file past the "Documents" level with OS X. Is it possible to drill down further than "Documents" and create new folders during the "File-Save" process in OS X or is this just a difference between Windows and OS X?

Thanks in advance for all advice.

There should be a new folder button in the bottom left hand corner of the save dialog. What app are you using?

I am using the "Pages" application and the "File-Save" option produces a small dialog box which seems to allow limited options as to where to store the file. I do not see a button for New Folder creation anywhere in the dialog box.

Gee whiz - there it is! Thanks, cradom, for helping a newbie along. I've been a computer user since DOS 1.1, but have just now converted to OSX, and I love it more every day. I still have a lot to learn and I am very grateful for this forum, it has already been a tremendous help for me.

Don't feel bad for missing that. The only reason I caught on is by the time that was done I had used Macs for years and knew it had to be there. I finally got it via the "poke at it till you find it" method.
