At work I used Chrome + windows 7 and I can surf facebook and youtube 12 hours straight and have no hiccups.

At home I am using Safari and I am hating this memory leak so bad. I used to use Fire Fox but got fed up with it and swore it off. I've used Chrome on my macbook before but also remember getting fed up with it at one point.

I've updated flash, I am not sure what to do. It's like a youtube video and 3 facebook tabs are too much for my computer now.

If your Mac specs that you display are for real, you're not exactly running a powerhouse. A system with 2 GB of memory is probably going to "limp" along. All browsers leak memory, but the latest from Safari (which you can't run) has been vastly improved.

How much hard drive space do you have free? And why haven't you upgraded to 10.6.8?

If Chrome doesn't work on your Mac as well as it does on your Windows machine, it's not Chrome, it's the machine (seeing as how they are 99% the same). Indeed, if it's all browsers, which have all ballooned as of late, it's likely that the hardware in your machine is just not up to the task.

my signature is old.

OK i changed my youtube settings to do HTML5 when available. and I have added flash blocker.

on my RAM i usually average 75% use and then reset safari and it knocks it back down to 55-60%

I keep my HD with 25% free space on it, (~70GB) never full
