gmail sign on my IMAC

I can`t stay signed in on gmail on my IMAC. The cookies are checked correctly. Everytime I want to sign in I have to go to Yahoo and do a search for gmail to sign in . If I go back or go to gmail from history and sign in, it goes to the settings page and I have to go to a search engine again. I`ve tried restarting, clearing, checking the say signed in button but nothing helps.

Type this in the URL bar at the top of your browser: www.accounts.google.com/
When you get to Gmail don't log in yet. Press command-D. Save the bookmark in the Bookmarks menu.
Now you don't have to go to Yahoo to find it.
Some websites wont let you stay signed in for a long time. Don't know about Google.

As long as you check the box to stay signed in, it should remain that way forever (unless you clear your browsing data).
