Synchronizing all of my 'messages' ?

I 'think' I used to get my texts (messages) on my desk top, lap top, ipad and iphone. Now when I am on my desk top and some one messages me I dont receive it. It only goes to my phone which is upstairs. I am in the office. Is there a setting I may have changed or was I imagining it?
I have a new computer maybe that only worked on my 2009 ?

It depends on the types of messages that people are sending to you. If they are sending text messages, those won't be synced. iMessages will be synced across all of your iOS/Mac devices (these show in blue).

Yes, imessages. I dont get any on my desk top.
I know I used to.
I rarely get any text messages, just imessages.

Is the Messages app setup? What happens if you send a message from it? Do you get a reply on all of your devices?

Yes if I send from my desk top I get answers on there. Eventually they do show up on my other devices.
BUT if I rec. imessage on phone, it never shows up on desk top.

I find that turning iCloud on and off on the affected devices usually does the trick.
