When I updated to OS X Mavericks I had a lot of JPEG photos in folders.. Since the update the folders have disappeared and the photos will not open in preview because it says they are corrupt or not supported. They are in my recovery folder now also. What happened and how can I get them to open again. They are very important old photos of mine. Please help!

The update to Mavericks should not have harmed or otherwise removed your photos or folders. Something else is going on that caused it. The best solution here is to restore your photos and folders from your most recent backup.

Hi Baba..... - as already suggested, I hope that you have a backup of these photos? If not, let us know - you may need to try recovery software on your HD and the more you have used the computer, the less likely the images can be restored - Dave :)
