I tried the trial version of this and when it expired I could not find it when searching, though several icons are present on the menus tab which I cannot uninstall. I alsofound this in the list of processes and was able to force it to quit. I am concerned this probably isnt removed entirely. I have a Macbook Pro with a 10.6 OS. Thank you for any help.

thank you for your help, I obviously didnt state my question clearly enough. I want to remove all traces of IStat.

when I open the Activity Monitor, one of the processes that is running is the IStatsMenusAgent.
When I quit this process it reappears with a different PID number, I cannot
eliminate this and I cannot find any mention of IStats in my application
folder.

I would like to know what this means and how I can completely remove all
traces of IStat from my computer.

Thank you again.

Like it says in the link I gave you, Click on iStat in the menubar and select 'Uninstall'.
Restart after.

To remove everything associated with Istat, you have to have the uninstaller. The uninstaller comes, as cradom said, in the install package that he suggested you download. and run. Did you even bother to go to the link he posted? They show clearly there how to uninstall Istat.

And if this is iStat Pro it may well be a widget. Access via Dashboard, select and hit he little (-) button.

Yes, I went to the link, as I said I removed most of the traces of IStat but as I also said
when I open the Activity Monitor, one of the processes that is running is the IStatsMenusAgent.
When I quit this process it reappears with a different PID number, I cannot
eliminate this and I cannot find any mention of IStats in my application
folder.

I would like to know what this means and how I can completely remove all
traces of IStat from my computer.

Thanks.

Have you tried the techniques mentioned above? Re-download the program if necessary then run the uninstaller.

Edit: Nevermind. Misread the post I'll have to do some more research.

thanks much for your reply. I guess I missed that it was being said that I should re-load the program then uninstall again. as I have had trouble with this, obviously, makes me a little wary of installing again but I guess I see the logic. Thanks for helping.

Yes. If you haven't done so already try that. The process keeps re-spawning because there is something left behind. Let us know how that goes.

Thanks a lot, Sly Dude, it seems to have been eliminated by doing what you and others suggested. Much appreciate your patience and everyone else's efforts. All the best....
