Using iPad2 away from home with WiFi connection.
Clicking iCloud icon in title bar returns message No iCloud Tabs.
Settings shows iCloud items on and iTunes set for automatic downloads.
What should I try next?

I'm confused. What are you trying to accomplish? What iCloud icon? Title bar in what app?

He *might* be referring to Safari.

The iCloud tabs feature only works if the iPad is set to synchronize with Safari on the Mac. This means that in Settings->iCloud on the iPad **and** System Preferences->iCloud on the Mac, *both* machines must have "Safari" syncing checked or turned on.

It should go without saying (but I'll say it anyway) that this of course depends on the iPad 2 being on the latest version of iOS 7, and the Mac being on the latest version of Mountain Lion (10.8) or Mavericks (10.9).

Nope. You'll have to go home and turn it on on your Mac before that will work.

I don't think you understand what the iCloud tabs are for. That feature lists any websites that are "open" in Safari on other devices/Macs using your iCloud ID. It isn't for syncing stored bookmarks. What it sounds like you want to do is sync your bookmarks. They may even be synced, but you aren't checking the right icon. See screen cap below. If you don't have your bookmarks synced, you need to go into your iCloud settings on the iPad and on your Mac and enable "Safari" for that to happen.
