I just got a free imac from a store of the company i work for. When i start the imac up, it boots straight into wKiosk and and it says computer cannot connect to the internet. When i plug it straight into my router via ethernet it says the same thing. I am stuck on that screen and cannot click anything to get out of it. I tried booting the imac from a OS install disk. It said cannot install from disk please try from last backup. Computer cannot find any backups. Someone please help what else should i try.

try safe mode

- keep the shift key pressed on startup, immediately after the chime sound

If you can't quit or force quit wKiosk, try a safe mode boot as suggested and I'd get rid of it and make sure it isn't a startup item.

PS: If it's a fairly new iMac, they don't usually come with any OS install disk that will work as the older OS X Macs did.
