Fax via my mac?

Hi people,

I don't have a fax machine, but really need to use one today, and hence have not got round to looking into this.

Whats the easiest and free-est way to get a fax service to work via my mac?

This is under OS X 10.4.5:

Well if your mac has a modem built-in, just connect that to your phone line and then go to System preferences.

Under Print & Fax, select faxing, and enter your phone number there.

Then, select the document you want to fax, and hit print.
In the print dialog that pops up, select the PDF button at the bottom left and select 'Fax PDF'.

Enter the recipients fax nr. and hit fax.

I haven't tried this, but it should work that way at least.
