audio breaking up

This is my first post on this forum. My Apple TV audio starts breaking up after being on MLB for some time. I have to disconnect Apple TV from network and reconnect. Any suggestions for this problem?

How far away is your ATV from the router? What router do you have?

Router is about 10 foot away and it's a Linksys wrt54g.

That's a really old router, released in 2002. The fastest wireless standard it supports is 802.11g, which has long been superseded by 802.11n, which in turn was recently superseded by 802.11ac. It may simply not be able to stream fast enough, or may be failing due to age.

As life says time to splurge out on a new router.

Way, Way too slow the old 'g's.

It's been such a reliable router, I hate to change but may upgrade. Had old Dell system for 12 years until this year I got iMac. Got tired of Windows. I like iMac, may check out Apple router too. Apple makes good stuff.
