How can I check RAM, HDD etc on G3?

A friend gave me a Power MAC G3. The only thing I know about it is that it is a 266 MHz. (I am from the dark side.) Trying to learn the ins and outs of this box. Neat OS, but I get lost. Don't have a manual. What is the max RAM I can put in this? What is the fastes CPU I can install? Can I add a 2nd HDD? Can I do these or does it need an Apple Tech? Thanks. Lost but looking.
