ICal recovery

I deleted it from my Mac XO 10.6.8 because it kept shutting down. How do I recover? I don't have the software.

You can extract iCal from your Snow Leopard disk (10.6.8) by using a utility called "Pacifist" which you can download from here.

Where's your Snow Leopard disk? Without it, Pacifist is not going to do you any good. In other words, you need your OS X install disk in order to extract iCal. Your Mac either came with Snow Leopard installed or maybe Leopard. Both of those install disk sets contain iCal.

You may even have a copy you could reinstall depending on what OS X install disks you have available:

I take that to mean she does not have any discs.

That is correct I don't have any disks. My iMac was a hand me down from my nephew. I guess I'm Scr•wed.

Call Apple Customer Support and you can purchase an install disk of 10.6.x for about $20.00 if they won't ship one free - doubtful.

Or just purchase it online:
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.)
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (Canada)
etc. depending on where you live.
