question about the app store

Hello, Are the marketplaces for macbooks and ipads different or are they on the same store?

The online stores are different for the two devices though you can set things up to use the same Apple ID and account. Mac software is handled throughout a separate application on the Mac called App Store while iPad apps are purchased through the apps section of the iTunes Music Store.

Apps purchased for the Mac cannot run on the iPad.

Thank you - And the same goes for ipads apps cannot be used on mac?

Yes. There are a number of apps thought that have versions for Man and iPhone/iPad. Microsoft Office, for example has versions for the Mac and for iPad. There are many other apps that aren't necessarily companion apps but make it easy to pass information back and forth between iPhone/iPad and Mac.
