Issues with trying to sync with iTunes

I just recently installed mavericks on my late 2009 iMac and I am having issues syncing with iTunes, specifically my iBooks, the iMac sees the books but not my pdf collection. And now I'm getting an error message saying that I don't have enough access privileges for this operation.

It seems that Apple changed some related things with Mavericks and its iTunes so you may want to use your browser to check some of the solutions and maybe a google search:
