Since downloading Maverick my 27" iMac's screen goes black at various times during the day. The computer is still on because I can still listen to streaming media. I thought it might have gone to sleep but that is not the case. After about 5 minutes I can hit the restart button and it will boot up. Any suggestions.

You could try a couple things:
1. Double check the preference settings (display, energy saver, screen saver, etc.).
2. Do an NVRAM/PRAM reset:
