i have a 4G HTC verizon phone and am currently on Verizon, with current contract expired already. think about staying with my current Verizon contract and get an unlocked iPhone 5s that has dual band (both CDMA and GSM) with SIM card slot. i travel internationally and would like to insert a GSM SIM card when i am in a country that uses GSM band.

Is there a question?

If you're asking whether or not the Verizon iPhone would work as a GSM phone when you travel internationally, the answer is yes. You would of course need to purchase a SIM from a carrier in the country you travel to. (and possibly a limited use contract)

thanks! verizon people at the store seem clueless about this and not able to answer my questions clearly. yes, when i go to other country, will need to buy a SIM card from a local carrier in that country.
