PPTP VPN set up on MAC

Hi, I have an Intel 2007 MacBook Pro running Snow Leaopord (10.6.8) and I am trying to set up a PPTP VPN connection to get an American IP and hide my Canadian IP. I was able to do it on my PC but for some reason, its not working on my MAC. Has anyone else done this successfully? What am I missing here?
