Hello,

I have tried looking up the information online and have been unsuccessful in getting a solid answer to my question. Seeing how online retailers like steam and the App Store don't offer refunds I am very wary of making a purchase and then not being able to play the game and be out on the money Id pay.

I have an Imac 21.5 basic model, can I play the games listed

OS X 10.9
2.7 ghz intel core I5
8 GB Ram
Intel Iris Pro
VRam 1536

I'd like to be able to play games such as:

Borderlands 2
Civilization 5
Star Wars KoToR

Thanks for any expertise

Thanks craig,I appreciate your answer, but if someone with expertise or experience could reply please

The system requirements just have never made sense to me. I explained in the beginning that i've already searched online meaning I have looked at the normal stuff. I am not asking where to find the requirements. More about asking for help from someone that has experience,

Again i'm grateful for some expertise

Example:

Borderlands2

  • Operating System: 10.7.5 (Lion), 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion) You have 10.9
  • CPU Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo (Dual-Core) You have i5, much better
  • CPU Speed: 2.2GHz You, 2.7
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM You 8 gig
  • Hard Disk Space: 13 GB
  • Video Card (ATI): Radeon HD 2600 Problem here, might not run. You have integrated graphics? Someone else chime in here?
  • Video Card (NVidia): Geforce 8800
  • Video Memory (VRam): 256 MB No problem
  • Peripherals: Macintosh mouse and keyboard
Just find the specs on your graphics card and compare it with the minimum. I'm not familiar with Intel and cant help there. Everything else is a go.

Here are the pecs for the HD 2600:-

Radeon HD 4650 vs 2600 XT Mac

Iris 5200 would be much better but ask the app developer if you are concerned..

And the 2600 card was standard in a 2008 iMac. Things have progressed since then!

You actually never asked a question in your original post. You've only left us to guess at what your question is/was.

Thanks a bunch! Hope I didn't come off rude. That makes more sense to me now.
