I use several different wi-fis periodically. My iPad remembers their login names and passwords, but my iPhone does not. I don't remember what setting makes the difference!. Any help?

That setting is found in Settings. Then go to WiFi. Look at the settings for "Ask to Join Networks". Make sure it is set the same way on the iPhone as it is on the iPad. Some networks seem to be set not to remember this setting but that is probably not the case here since the iPad remembers the credentials.

Well, I thought you were onto something, Slydude. The "Ask to Join Networks" settings were indeed different. So, I changed the iPhone setting, but got the same result. Even power cycled the iPhone. Both devices are running IOS 7.1.1.

Well, in addition to not solving your problem, this puts a serious damper in my quest to become the forums resident troubleshooting genius.:D

I'll do a bit more digging and see what I can find out.

I'm not sure what your problem is, however, on both my iPad and iPhone (using iOS 7.1.1) it remembers the networks I've joined and the password if one is required. No special setting as far as I can determine. The only time I've had to respond was when in a doctor's office and logged onto his guest network. I had to agree to his terms of usage before it would let me log on.

Next I'd probably try resetting all the network settings and start over.

Reset
Reset Network Settings
Head back to the home screen and power off / on, then give it a try.
