How to use an iPhone with the forum?

Hi.

Could you tell me how to use the Mac Forums site on my iPhone? The site opens showing Featured Threads. I can open a thread but there is no Reply option. How do I get to see the full site? If I touch the Full Site link at the bottom of the page, it just reloads the same page.

Download Atomic Web Browser. May as well give them the $2 they're asking for it. There is a free version, but it's been too long and I don't remember if it has the following options or not.

Once you launch it - touch the gear at the bottom - select 'Identify Browser As"
When I was experimenting, Firefox 15 worked the best.
That will give you access to the full site instead of the dumbed down mobile site.

PS. Took the liberty of editing out your contact info and moving the thread into the general forum. You're not likely to be the only one wondering what's up...

+1 for the Atomic Web Browser. Although Safari does work to access our forums, it's cumbersome at best to move around where you can reply or even search threads. I rarely if ever, use my iPhone to access our forums for that reason. I use my iPad instead and that works great.

Chrome has a "Request desktop site" option in the menu that will load the full page. It's also free.

And iOS 8 Safari has also added this option.
In iOS 7, no matter what I did, it reverted me to the one the OP is talking about.

I still vote that they throw this into Tapatalk, because that App now is so cool and has many features, I'm sure the traffic here would be of a much higher % than it is now. . . . :cough: :cough:

My friend, you are preaching to the choir. In fact, I got so tired of begging iNet to adapt the forum to take advantage of the surge in mobile OS usage amongst the community, that I finally gave up in disgust.

I am convinced that iNet will let this forum die before they'll get over their cranial-rectal inversion and get a decent mobile solution out there.

Hi! Newbie to the forum here, but a longtime user of Tapatalk.

It's a shame this isn't available for this forum, as it's a great mobile app. I use it to access several other 'interest' forums I belong to.

Why not use the Mac-Forums app? It's built on top of Tapatalk (I believe).

It is built on top of Tapatalk and works well. If I can use it with my old eyes, I'm sure others can too. Takes a bit of learning on how to move around but once you learn the app it comes in handy if you're away from your Mac or iPad.

It's made ruling with an iron fist on the go much easier.
