I have an early 2009 iMac. Does this model support dual monitors? If so what is needed? I kind of figure it's not supported, but I'm not certain. Thanks for any help.

By "dual monitors"…do you mean the iMac + one external monitor…or the iMac plus two external monitors (so a total of three)?

iMac and one external monitor. If it's possible, what specific hardware would I need?

This is easy!:) iMac's have supported one external monitor since at least 2002 (12 years). As far as hardware. Most likely a video adapter will be needed.

The "Early 2009" iMacs have a "mini-display port". So you will most likely need a video adapter ("mini-display port" to whatever cable the external display uses (DVI, HDMI, VGA, etc.)).
