Hi All,

We have a Java application that uses OLE DB on Windows to open and read Excel spreadsheets. The same application works well on the Mac.

We have Office for Mac 2011 installed on our Mac development laptop. There does not appear to be any OLE DB providers installed.

Is it possible to use OLE DB with Mac OS? We would like to be able to access the spreadsheets in the same way.

Thanks for your help,

Roy Stoliday.

Thread moved to better sub-forum. Not an iOS topic.

Thanks,

Nope. OLE DB is a Windows thing and not available within OS X. It may be possible to do what you wish by using "Services", however, it would require that your Java app be able to utilize "Services". MS Office 2011 is fully compatible with "Services".
