I have a jar and also a "unix executable file" which invokes the terminal to start it. I can pin the unix executable the RHS of the dock. Is there some way I can change the icon or do I really have to download developer tools and bundle the jar as an app? What happens if I then upgrade java? I have done this before but it is a big download and a bit of a hassle. Is there an easier way? I don't want to distribute it - it is for me only - I'd just like a recognisable icon in the dock. The jar is iSeries access written by IBM.

Any ideas?

You can edit the icons of any file. See the first paragraph under "Replacing your Icons" here.
