I'm looking for a program to manage customer databases for direct mail, something I know very little about. Basically, I need to be able to open .dbf files and automatically remove duplicates, sort by zip codes, export segments to new files, etc. I don't need to do anything profound, and I don't need to retain the database, just do the editing and forward the files on to a mail house. The program will also need to accomodate 1 million+ records, and I would prefer something that is cross-platform. If not, then OS X based. I've looked at Access and Fox Pro, but both of these seem to be oriented much more toward keeping track of customers than manipulating direct mail lists. If anyone has any experience in this area, I would appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thanks!
