I just switched to a 4S from a 4. Went to the app store and downloaded all apps from old phone. One app, a bird watching app, had A LOT of data on it that I personally added (sitings dates and the like), none of which transferred. Do I have to re-enter this? I did back that phone up to my MACbook. Can I get it and move to the new phone?

Does the app have some sort of syncing functionality or an export feature? This would be the easiest way to migrate your data over.

Yes, attach your 4s to your Mac, open iTunes and do a restore.

If the data from your bird watching program was backed up to your Mac or iCloud along with the program, it should have been restored. It's likely that the data was not included when you made the backup.

What's the name of this app? Perhaps there are some migration instructions on their website somewhere.

I was able to export is as a csv file (and then open as an excel). But is it possible to import files like this to phones? I will also look online as suggested...but, just thought I'd put it out there.

I imagine that if it can export data, it must be able to import it. Again, what is the name of the app?

Since you refuse to give us the details we need to actually help you, I'd suggest you contact the developer of the app and see if they have some instructions for you.
