how to copy the complete contents of one mac to a new macbook air?

I have the contents of my MBR 2013 version and i wish to transfer all the data from the mgr to the air. I have a backed up version from my mgr on a time capsule.Will the transfer take place if i connect the time capsule to a usb port on my new air and press restore.
Are there other methods?
