After this upgrade, when I wake my MBA (mid 2012), I have 1 or 2 flickering issues. This only happens if the standby is long.Should I reset PRAM ?

Go for an SMC reset and see if that helps, if not, come back and we'll try something else :)

SMC Reset

Hope this helps

Is there any way you could try plugging in an external monitor? If you can then this can help see if it's a graphics card issue (if the flickering remains on the external monitor too) or whether it's a loose connection (the more likely option)

No, I don´t have a way of connecting an external monitor. What do you mean by loose connection ? Do you think it´s hardware ? It only started after 10.9.3 upgrade and only happens when I wake up the Mac from a long sleep period (hours).

It could be a random coincidence of a loose connection, but if you're pretty sure it's because of the upgrade then i'd suggest making a full backup and re-installing the OS to see if that clears the problem.

Try setting your power settings to Performance rather than power preserving, I had the same problem with a Macbook which flickered everytime it switched between GPU's

Where do you go to make that change in the settings ?

- Apple Menu
- System Preferences
- Energy Saver

Tried the power settings but still no luck. It´s a random thing, sometimes the flickering is long, the screen goes black for milliseconds, sometimes your barely notice it. But normally always after a few hours of sleep.

Final feedback

OK guys, in for surprises ? The guarantee changed my logic board, no result; changed display, no result. Matter handled over to Apple engineering. Said it must be a software problem. I also agreed. About 15 days ago, out came the Thunderbolt Firmware updates (2 on the same day): voilá issue resolved.
Very glad with AppleCare, they just wanted me satisfied with the issue. 2 major hardware exchanges and they now have another 2 years guarantee. And now my first iPhone. All in one, great Apple satisfaction. Been with OSX for 5 years now. Windows pc´s are good for fishing, just put them in a fishing line and the bate will definitely go under water, nice for weights.:;P
