When I run Apple Mail I am getting a blowout in Kernal task and it maxs out available memory. It only happens with mail, I have reinstalled Mavericks to no avail. Anybody have any idea on what may be occurring here. In the interim I am using Outlook, but would prefer Apple mail

Start up in Safe Mode to see if the same thing happens. Unless the Mail program is broken or somehow corrupt, there normally would be nothing that would cause it to use up all your memory.
