My drive crashed when Mavericks was being installed. I was upgrading from 10.6.8. So I had a new drive put in. Much of my data was retrieved from the old drive. I do have the downloaded songs from Itunes, but not my created playlists. How would I get it back from my old drive?

I believe you'd need your old .itl file (iTunes Library.itl), however I haven't done such a replacement myself, so cannot guarantee it'll work, particularly in view of the OS upgrade (hence a different iTunes version).

Keep a backup of your current .itl file, before you attempt to replace it with the old one. Also, I presume, the location for the library hasn't changed, otherwise you'll get a right mess by replacing the file.

Actually, scratch the above - just looked at it closely: go to File | Library | Import Playlist and point to your old .itl file - that should do the trick and get around the different (new) version of iTunes you now have.

Yea!! I got everything back. I'm not quite sure how I did it, but I did! I searched Library files and I found all my "Tracks" so I just dragged them to "Songs". My songs are also showing in albums. Thank you for your help.
