Import Contacts to 10.9

My drive crashed as my friend was updating from 10.6.8 to 10.9. He was able to retrieve most of my data. He installed a new drive and some of my programs. How would I get all my contacts back I see all the names on the old drive, but have no idea to move them.

If you can see the contacts on the old drive, you can copy them to a flash drive and move them to the new drive. However, you'll need to copy them as text which may turn out to be tedious.
