Got a MBP 13 mid 2012. Boots and runs slow. Has 70-80% processor use when just booted and showing finder and a picture.
Any one got an Idea what I can check?
That's not normal. There's something else going on if your CPU is that high and you say nothing else is running. I just checked my Activity Monitor and my CPU usage is negligible and I'm on the net right now responding to you. Make sure you check all the functions available from the Activity Monitor.
Do you have any apps that "auto-load" on startup? These could be eating up system resources. As chscag advised...CAREFULLY look thru the processes in Activity Monitor to see what apps are running after startup (or which ones are using the most cpu resources). Make sure you have "All Process's" chosen.
